THE GOALS
Organize hundreds of Instagram videos on a website in a way that is intuitive, user-friendly, and searchable for his audience.
Offer a digital “recipe index” that feels welcoming, unique, and streamlined. Not like every other food blog stuck in 2018.
Reach an audience beyond IG with SEO-focused web copy that draws random cocktail-loving people on the internet to the site.
Provide a platform to expand his brand now and in the future with merchandise showcasing, brand partnership info, and press features.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
After meeting Chris at a cocktail event in New York and partnering with him for a bar takeover event out here in Phoenix (my alter-ego is a bartender — I’ve been slinging drinks much longer than I’ve been designing sites!)… I was thrilled when he reached out for help building a website.
Though the design had to be beautiful and modern (of course), the real challenge of this one was on the back-end: solving the problem of his audience constantly asking him for the recipes he shared on Instagram.
How to do you organize hundreds of recipes and years worth of videos to make it as easy as possible for someone to dig through when they’re looking for something specific?
The result is a comprehensive blog that’s easily searchable via tags, categories, and ‘themes’ — in the way you’d see drinks sectioned on a restaurant cocktail menu.
And, every recipe links back to the original Instagram Reel — for a site that perfectly compliments and enhances the social media experience, but with a helluva lot more organization & functionality.
